Hello & Welcome to The Heywoods Scrapbook ~ A Collection of Memories! Have a seat, kick back, and take a stroll down memory lane with us as we reminisce of good times and happy days shared as fans of Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods. This is not intended to be their official site, but rather a tribute and a Thank You for the many, many years of happiness and joy they have brought through their music to fans around the world. On this site you will find a time-filled collection of photographs and articles collected from first hand experiences along with many teen magazines from the 70's such as Tiger Beat, 16, Spec, Fave, and Star. I'm sure you will remember!
The Heywoods had their first #1 record in 1974 with the song "Billy Don't Be A Hero" and it was followed shortly thereafter with "Who Do You Think You Are?" But did you know The Heywoods first hit the music scene in the early 60's known mostly as a cover band playing songs by hit artists that we still know and love today such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many others? That's right! They also frequently played for their hometown community of Cincinnati, Ohio making appearance at PTA meetings, local TV shows, and other establishments around the town. This "cover band" as they were called back then, got their first start of stardom with Dick Clark's "Caravan of Stars" in 1968 and the rest is Heywood history!
